What You Should Know Before Entering A Bodybuilding Competition

Entering into a competition can be exciting and dramatic for any bodybuilder. This is a way for people to show off the work they’ve done for many many months or years. You may not be aware of the rules and requirements necessary to enter these competitions. A contest is very different from a workout at the gym. You need to prepare yourself both physically and mentally before you compete. The tips in this article can help you really understand what you need to know.

First of all, you have to decide what type of competition and what division you want to compete in. You will find competitions for teens, men and women. Much the same as boxing there are weight classes for all three divisions separately and together. You should think about which weight division will offer you the best benefit. You want to avoid forcing yourself into a lower weight class than you are naturally in as this can weaken your strength and cause the loss of muscle mass. However, if you could stand to lose a few more pounds, aim at competing in a division that will motivate this need. The best idea is to enter a competition division that is normal for you in peak condition.

Before you compete in any bodybuilding competitions, go to a few as a spectator. It is possible to do this by watching TV but you’ll get a better feel for the competition if you actually experience it in real life. See what the audience, judges and participants are doing. Watch how the competitors pose and the reaction the crowd gives to each new pose. Try to determine what qualities and routines get the best responses. You will be able to get a better feel of what it’s going to be like for you to compete as you learn by watching.

You will notice that many contestants are very tanned. This is more than a statement, it also aides in showing your muscles in different lighting. This is not something you can leave for the last minute, or you may show up at the competition looked red or orange rather than tanned! You need to have a natural looking tan so take several weeks worth of tanning sessions regularly before a competition. Tanning will not win the competition for you but it will help you look your best.

When you compete in a bodybuilding competition, you have to train hard and accept the fact that you still might not win, especially if it’s your first time. Your main goal should be to improve yourself, and if you are consistent you will eventually be a successful competitor. If bodybuilding is your destiny you should give it all you’ve got. The suggestions we’ve covered here will help you prepare for the world of bodybuilding competitions.

He fucking stole that story at the start from a famous article about body building. Except instead of a guru it was mr olympia. What a sly fucking theif. He tells it so shamelessly as if its his own.

hey baz whats some good protein muscle building foods/diet i should eat during my days off in between weights.

  3. Stop lifting weights. This is why your “weight” is stalling. If you want to lose weight (yes, different from just fat), drop the weights and pick up extra cardio. I don’t know how to explain it. You might actually be putting on muscle just as quickly as you are taking fat off or the muscle building process somehow messes with your metabolism and causes insulin resistance or something, hell, I don’t have any clue, but after trying everything I could think of, I dumped the weight training for a little bit to pursue the release of fat. It’s not rfittet approved and goes against alot of advice you hear, but give it a try for two weeks.
