The Essence of Keeping the Body Building Goal in Focus

No matter how powered the body building program is at the beginning, the ultimate success yields from sustained workouts that correspond to the goals set out from the very beginning.

The moment a body builder looses focus of the goal body building becomes a routine. Without keeping the focus, a body builder can not be consistent, can not be efficient in the exercises and can not accompany the program with appropriate diet requirements. It is the focus that draws the guide lines that guide brings a novice body builder to success. Five months in focus of the goal, helps a body builder attain what he or she can not attain in five years of unfocussed body building efforts. Examples abound in the body building industry of people who spent all their growing up years platooned in the gym but achieved nothing to show for it. But the moment any one of these false-starts gets into professional body building and uses correct programs, they usually achieve such gains as are monumental even to dream of.

Rotation of exercise is usually done in view of the focus. A good example is a body builder whose interest is to build a high powered upper torso may have several sets of chest and triceps exercises on the first day of the week, several sets of back and bicep exercises on day two, several sets for legs and shoulders exercises before resting on the fourth day. He or she would then take up abs and core muscles extensively exhausted on the fifth day while on the fifth day, aerobics will be the focus. The only way a body builder can develop such a workout schedule is by having the focus in mind towards the specified goal.

Significant gains are also realized when the focus is kept on the goal. A body builder will readily know which diets to implement to achieve particular effects in the body and which ones to avoid. If for example the objective is to loose wait, the body builder who retains focus will not have a problem in avoiding junk food. However if focus is lost and dieting becomes just another routine, the body builder will often catch him or herself after having eaten the forbidden meals and even after that he or she will not feel guilty about it. After all, the significance of such bladders is never realized if the body builder is not careful about his or her success in the body building program.

A common way of knowing that a body builder who wants to control weight has lost focus is staying for several weeks before standing on a weight machine and sometimes forgetting what he weighed in the last measurement.

Another key issue in keeping the goal in focus is in making and maintaining achievable goals. A goal is kept in focus by braking up the long term goal into sub-parts that constitute short term goals. If the body builder is concerned about gaining weight for example, adding a few lbs per month can serve as the short term objective adding up to the main goal of gaining 200lbs.

Each time a short term goal is achieved, the motivation fuels the achievement of the next and each one after the other will read the body builder to the ultimate goal. It is all about working towards a predetermined end, persistently and consistently.
