The Benefits Of Core Strength

You see it everyday, all around you, and maybe even when you look at yourself in the mirror. Bad posture, slouching, stomach pushing out, and people complaining about lower back pain. The truth is, core strength is vital for everyone that wants to enjoy a healthier life and a back pain free life. It is also essential for athletes that want to perform the best they can.

Who should care about core strength? Everyone should. It is so beneficial for everyday life and everything from picking up a box to swinging a baseball bat. Athletes, moms, dads, teenagers, elderly, and everyone young and old would benefit from having a strong core.

Finally, lets get to the point of this article. What are the advantages to having a strong core?

Balancing becomes easier when your core muscles are strong and stable. Your ability to balance is influenced by how well these muscles work together. When you work on training them through a variety of exercises, they work together more effectively. Your balance gets better as a result.

Tired of walking around with a droopy posture? Exercise your trunk. The muscles in your core stabilize your body and your spine, which will greatly aid in improving your posture. Weak muscles have a hard time supporting a healthy posture, and for this reason, many people slouch because it is easier (but not better for you).

Since your core is your platform, having a stable platform will aid in reducing injury rate. You will have more control over your body, which will make moving and activities such as running more efficient and easier. Without a stable platform, you move like a fish, with injury more likely to happen.

Athletes of all sorts can benefit from core strength training as it helps to improve your general athletic ability. When these muscles are strong and stable, running, jumping, balancing, and actions such as throwing a baseball are improved and can be done with more efficiency. A strong foundation will also improve your power, which is something that is helpful in many sports.

If you want to build up your core strength to the extreme, the P90x extreme home fitness workout is the way to do it. You’ll build all around strength, and build ripped abs and a solid core while doing it. P90x is a great way to get fit, and develop a strong core.

Well sure! Let me see. I don’t want to steer you wrong here, or accidentally prescribe anything, you know, dangerous. I would suggest youtubing: – Some kind of crouches: with a medicine ball, or a bar. – Some kind of lunges: alternate or repeat, and you could add bicep curls with like 3kg weights. Or hold 1kg weights straight up in the air for your shoulders. – Pushups: on the floor, or with one of those giant balls. – Some kind of ‘row’ – there are specific row machines, or you can use machines with flexible pulley weights (I don’t know what they’re called. Sorry. Google it!) Abs: Plank. It’s awful. I can’t do more than about a minute 15, it’s hopeless. But good. A pilates single leg stretch or similar. Actually, for abs, looks for pilates exercises. Start reeeeeeally slow. Watch heaps of videos until you think you have the best advice. Learn how to engage the core muscles. Took me ages. It should never hurt your back! If it does, go back to the very easiest exercise you can find, and do it over and over until you build up the strength. I was amazed by how not strong my muscles were. But now they’re better! Always look for slow, careful exercises. The slow burn burns longest. That’s probably a proverb. Do like, 3 set of 10 – 15 reps. I think that’s pretty standard. Basically nothing is better than having a professional help you out. I really don’t want you to hurt yourself because I spouted off some random advice on the internet. I’m sure you know what I mean! I hope it goes well for you. Just enjoy the gym, and definitely don’t worry about your arms. Ok, bed time!
