Athletes and bodybuilders alike that take anabolic steroids usually take them for a certain amount of time and this is called a cycle and a cycle usually lasts for about 6, 8, 10, or 12 weeks although some people choose to take them for longer.
When doing a steroid cycle you can choose to take more than 1 type of steroid at a time and this is called “stacking”.”Stacking different types of anabolic steroids gives different results, for example if you are a bodybuilder and you are in a competition in a few weeks you would want a “cutting stack”. This would involve using certain types of steroids that are not estrogenic or only slightly estrogenic as this can give you “water retention” which you certainly don’t want if you have a competition coming up as it gives you that smooth bloated look.On the other hand, if you are not competing then this slightly bloated smooth look is ok so you can take “bulking steroids” such as most testosterone based products.When taking “bulking steroids” it is always wise to have “anti-estrogens” on hand as some people are more suceptible to gynocomastia than others, this usually starts with “itchy nipples” and that is a good sign to start taking the anti-estrogens which can include “Nolvadex, Provinum and Armidex” although Armidex is rather more expensive than the first two but the license which Astra Zeneca holds for manufacturing Armidex runs out this year (2010) so we should see some cheaper versions on the market soon.
