I am sure that by now if you are serious about your bodybuilding workouts you have spent lots of time going over each and every product on the market that has any claim to improve the quality and quantity of your workout sessions. One product in particular has been getting quite a bit of press recently and has shown that in the majority of people who used it that they experienced improvements in their level of stamina, strength and post workout recovery. So what is this product? Nitric oxide supplements (aka L-Arginine).
This is not something that is brand new. In fact is has been around since the late eighties, but it took some time for it to really catch on in the bodybuilding world. Of course once nitric oxide made the step from gossip and small talk amongst bodybuilders, almost every company out there who creates bodybuilding supplements created their own version of the product. While this may mean more options to choose from, still many bodybuilders knew very little about the supplement and how nitric oxide (aka l-arginine) could help to improve their muscle building efforts.
The reason I mention the amino acid L-Arginine and nitric oxide is the fact that our body needs the amino acid in our bodies before it can synthesize the nitric oxide. But with those increased levels of the NO gas in our blood we begin to experience a couple key changes that can be exceptionally beneficial.
#1 First, nitric oxide is a mild vascular dilator. That means that your blood vessels in your body will relax and widen to increase blood flow throughout the entire body. This helps improve the ability for the body to transport vital nutrients and oxygen to your entire body.
#2 Second, nitric oxide supplements actually help improve the levels of oxygen in the blood. That means your blood carries more oxygen, so therefore your entire body gets a slight boost in the amount of oxygen it receives.
So what does this all mean to someone who is doing extensive training? Well, first off the increase in blood flow means that as you workout your muscles will not only get more oxygen and other vital nutrients, but the removal of toxins such as lactic acid will help prevent that post workout soreness.
Also, as you workout, you know that eventually you will hit your limit because you have simply worked your muscles to exhaustion. But with the oxygen and blood flow boost you get from NO you will be able to perform longer and push yourself further then you could before.
Lastly, as I mentioned before your post workout recovery will be shortened because of the increase in vital components to your body and rapid removal of lactic acid. This means that you will be able to work out more often and get faster overall results.
Just make sure that you use nitric oxide as part of a complete work out plan. That means proper training and a good diet. But with these three things you should be able to see faster results and improved overall performance by using nitric oxide supplements.
