Key Terms To Understand In Bodybuilding

Many people have failed in bodybuilding and some have quit all because they are subjected to terms that are difficult to understand and conceptualize. Though they may be a few of the starters in bodybuilding, it is important to bring them to the light since no one was born knowing everything. These terms are normally used in workouts and others in the diet descriptions and they end up confusing many people who would like to follow bodybuilding.

The term Feel Speed is one used in the gyms very frequent. It is simply a slow yet a steady speed that enables a person to feel the particular part or muscle that is being worked during the exercises. Normally it is referred as the muscle or mind link. The trainers in the gym usually advise someone to workout to a point that they can feel the strain because by then the muscles normally have a chance to adjust further and to a great extent.

Contracted Point is another term that will always appear during exercises. By this the trainers mean that one should stretch to a halfway point when doing a repetition of the same exercise. At the same point, the body muscles are fully contracted making them perform a negative portion by lowering the weight. This is normally used when doing the weight lifts. The individual is normally instructed on this, so as not to harm the muscles more and to allow them to relax in readiness for another lift.

Another common term in body building is the Static Contraction. It is very simple, when the trainer instructs a person to hold to a static contraction, he or she is simply telling the individual to hold on the weight for a short duration after lifting. It is meant to help strain the muscle a little bit and make them adjust to the different tensions. A massage of the arms is done at this juncture to help reduce the pain emanating from muscle strains and ease the tension of the individual. If one can take it simply, this point happens before the contracted point as explained above.

Super Set is another confusing term. It is mostly used during the prescriptions by the professionals in bodybuilding. It is like a dose given to any bodybuilder when they have failed in strictly following their exercises. The body builder is advised to perform a particular extra exercise in order to complete a failure that may have been done and then moving immediately to other exercises considering very little amounts of rests. Sacrifice in such kind is required from the body builder to help cover up the failures.

This and many more are very important terms that anyone in bodybuilding should familiarize with and great knowledge in them is highly advised. This is because when practicing bodybuilding people will face these terms and it is necessary to avoid any confusion that may crop from such. It would also be an individual’s advantage to have the terms on the finger tips in order to avoid any misleading that may emanate from the same.
