I am a regular visitor at the gym and work hard to remain healthy as well as keeping my whole body toned up but its not just about the exercise that makes the difference. Your daily diet has a enormous effect on how well your workout goes.

The best exercises would include sit ups with weights behind the head as this tones the abs alot faster than most others. You must remember to not over do your workout or you may damage the muscles too much.
Train your abs until the point of fatigue and then allow 24 hours rest before repeating the process. You will only grow these muscles if you put them under strain or load and then allowed to rest and rebuild.
Your mid section muscles are there to help you support yourself when you walk, bend or sit up and if these are weak then the back or leg muscles will have to carry the load. This makes you vunerable to back pain and even leg pain due to stress.
You can do a much more effective workout if you do the routine slowly and more controlled. 100 fast sit ups will be much less effective than doing 50 slow ones that are more controlled as this holds the strain at the right points.
If you can get hold of a large exercise ball then you can do your routine on this as this provides excellent stability and core control which directs the pressure to the right areas. Sit ups are easier and more effective using this tool.
Set yourself a daily routine and try to stick to it with all your might. If you are dedicated to this and remain consistent then you will get the results you deserve. Your friends and family will soon realise the efforts you have put in and you will be praised.
